LA writer and historian Michael Imlay noted that, while many writers are loathe to admist it, blogging is a passion, not a profession. A natural extension of my passion for writing about parenting and health, I also foster a great love of good food—the kind you want to share with loved ones, old friends and new. I like to create beautiful, elegant dishes with excellent flavor, all with nutrition as the highest priority. Along the way, I’ve delighted in how different kinds of food and spices can heal, provide specific nutrients, and how they grow or earned a peculiar moniker.
Happily, BlogBurst has accepted my blog, UnassumingFoodie.com, into its roster. BlogBurst is a news service bringing high-quality blogs which present unique perspectives, a distinctive voice, and vibrant, timely content onto highly-trafficked, high-brand mainstream publisher sites like the Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, FOX News, USAToday.com, and Reuters.com.
Bloggers truly do have a voice. According to study conducted by media research analysis firm Cision, the mention of blogs in national magazine and newspaper publication has increased more than 16-fold over the last five years. Of the top 20 publications reviewed, blogs and bloggers were mentioned more than 13,000 times during a one-year period ending June 2008.
